Privacy Policy
Your privacy is foundational to AwareFlow™.
Introduction
AwareFlow™ is private by design. This policy explains what we (SnapHabit LLC) do — and do not do — with data when you use the AwareFlow iOS app and this website.
We collect as little information as possible, process sensitive data on your device, and never sell or share your personal information.
Core Principles
- No selling or sharing of personal data — ever.
- No ads and no cross-app tracking.
- On-device processing: habit detection uses local audio patterns; audio never leaves your device.
- Consent first for all permissions. We use just-in-time system prompts and explain why we ask.
App Permissions & Why We Ask
All permissions are optional. iOS will ask you before anything is used, and you can change your choices any time in Settings.
- 🎤 Microphone — recognizes short sound patterns (sniff, throat-clear, pen-click) on device. No audio is recorded, saved, or transmitted.
- 🖼️ Photos — requested only when you pick an image to share or choose to export content. We never scan your library.
- 🧲 Bluetooth — used only when you connect supported audio accessories. Never for proximity or background scanning.
- 🔒 Face ID — optional App Lock for secure, quick access.
- 🏃 Motion — optional device context (e.g., pocket vs. desk) to improve detection accuracy. Not uploaded.
- 👥 Contacts — used only if you choose to share or invite people; never transmitted without your explicit action.
- 📅 Calendars — local context for timing nudges. Event contents stay on device.
- 📍 Location (When In Use) — optional; used for local weather/time context. Not stored or uploaded.
- 🗣️ Siri — optional shortcuts for quick actions; no data is sent to third parties.
- 🔴 Live Activities — optional, glanceable updates on your Lock Screen; no third-party access.
- 🔔 Notifications — supportive nudges you enable yourself; no marketing pushes.
Tip: Review or change any permission under Settings → AwareFlow.
Apple Privacy Manifest
We publish Apple’s required Privacy Manifest, which declares:
- No tracking:
NSPrivacyTracking = false,NSPrivacyTrackingDomains = []. - System API access reasons (examples):
- UserDefaults — store app preferences
- Disk space checks — ensure safe file exports
- File timestamps — validate cache freshness
- System boot time — calculate safe timing intervals
- Active keyboard info — support alternate keyboards responsibly
We also declare audio, processing, and limited background categories as required by Apple. AwareFlow does not use non-exempt encryption beyond Apple's built-in protections.
What Data We Store
- Stored locally on your device: settings, optional notes, optional exported images, and lightweight timing data.
- Not stored by us: raw audio, your photo library contents, your contacts, calendar event contents, or your precise location history.
- When you export or share: you choose the destination via the iOS share sheet.
Website Data
This website does not use ad beacons, tracking pixels, or analytics that follow you across sites.
We may use essential cookies for PWA functionality (e.g., install banners). We do not use cookies for profiling or advertising.
Crash & Performance
We currently do not use third-party analytics. If future privacy-respecting crash or performance telemetry is added, it will be:
- Opt-in or clearly disclosed,
- Configured to avoid personal identifiers,
- Never to include audio or your notes.
Changes will be reflected here and in-app.
Data Retention & Deletion
Data you choose to save lives exclusively on your device. Deleting the app removes this data unless you exported it elsewhere.
You can delete in-app content at any time.
Your Rights
If any personal information is ever collected or becomes associated with you, you may request access or deletion by emailing support@awareflow.app. We’ll respond promptly.
Depending on your location, you may have additional rights under laws like CCPA/CPRA or GDPR.
Children
AwareFlow™ is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect local app data. On-device processing reduces exposure risk, and you can enable the optional Face ID App Lock for additional protection.
Changes to This Policy
We will update this page whenever our practices change. Significant changes will be clearly marked with an effective date.
Effective date: 2025-09-17
